Despite what some people are saying Snowden did NOT sell out.
He could of sold his secrets for an absolute FORTUNE.
He didn't.
He put his life absolutely at risk, turned it upside down when he was earning $200k a year, in order to follow his MORAL PRINCIPLES and tell the TRUTH about what the government is doing.
There have been half a dozen previous whistle blowers on the NSA's mass surveillance programs - Binney & Drake to name but two.
None made a difference like Snowden.
Snowden told the truth at great personal risk and to his own great detriment in the hope that the American public might wake up to what is happening to their country.
We will see if his sacrifice was worthwhile.
It's up to YOU now to help make that difference.
Get out there and inform some more people, persuade them to also do things to help save their country.
I am trying to do my bit.
Get the word OUT.
See my recent blogposts for ammunition.

Nothing will change unless each and every one of us, help make it change.
If every one of us persuaded 5 more people, we would soon have the numbers to make that difference.
Get out there and inform and persuade some more people.
Update 06/13
N.B. This is not just about America, it is about freedom in the entire world.
How to get round the political backlash of spying on your own citizens.
Spy on someone elses and swap info.
The “Five Eyes” alliance between the intelligence agencies of the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK effectively permits those governments to circumvent the prohibition against gathering data on their own citizens by sharing information across the Five Eyes intelligence community. The UK for example can spy on Americans and make that information available to the US government on its massive spy cloud – one that the NSA operates and the Five Eyes share.

The German government has already started complaining about the mass spying of German citizens by the NSA.
Probably the best practical step you could do right now is to go round your workmates, friends and family, explain the NSA Mass Surveillance programs and ramifications, and get them to sign the White House petition to "Pardon Edward Snowden".
We at least need to get it above the 100,000 thresh hold for the publicity value.
I would like to see a million signatures on it - that would really send a message, but that would be really tough to do.
Update 06/23 - the petition has now gone past it's target of 100,000. Even more signatories would help to boost our case.
The petition :-

The worldwide petition to treat Edward Snowden as a whistle blower, NOT a criminal and to end the Prism program IMMEDIATELY, has well over 1 million signatories.

Update 06/23EFF's petition to "Stop Watching Us" has gone past 400,000 already - it has only been up a few days - most people don't know about it yet.
