The Neoconservative doctrine is still fully in play in America

Posted on 22:41 by Unknown

Neoconservativism is a doctrine for pre-emptive war in order to massively increase military spending and transfer the wealth of the middle class to the arms companies and bankers.

In order to kick off the doctrine in the first place by getting public opinion on board it was necessary to invent an enemy that did not really exist - the Islamic Extremists.

It is also a method for reducing civil rights in America and to shred the Constitution and the protections for ordinary people enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

For this to occur, the Neoconservatives use scaremongering tactics to whip up religious hatred and xenophobia amongst Americans.
They persuade the American people that in order to protect them from the enemy the Neocons themselves created, it is necessary to take away all of the people's civil rights.
Ultimately, if that is the desire and it would seem that it is, it is a method of imposing authoritarian Fascist rule in America after causing economic devastation - as happened in Germany in 1932.

Early advocates of Neoconservatism, such as the Kristols, are trotskyites and very left wing.

The Neoconservatives are still in total control in American politics.

The Neoconservative doctrine is still fully in play, although it is now better disguised from the American people by Barack Obama - he is much better at PR and deceit than Bush/Cheney ever were.

Witness  the evidence :-

War and conflict and the recruitment and support of Islamic Extremists

The original list of 6 countries scheduled for regime change by force in PNAC (the Neocon agenda) were Iraq, Libya, Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.

Only Iraq was achieved by GW Bush.

Libya has been accomplished by Barack Obama.
A secular regime has been replaced by Islamic Extremists.

There is civil war in Syria - Barack Obama and John McCain are supporting the Islamic Extremists of the FSA in raging civil war.

Lebanon and Jordan are being destabilized by events in Syria.

Sanctions continue to be tightened against Iran.

Obama has succeeded in changing Egypt from a secular country into one ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Obama and McCain are sending 20 F-16 and 200 Abrams tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood in so called "foreign aid".
There are now large scale protests calling for early elections to oust the Muslim Brotherhood - a petition for this has received 22 million signatures out of a population of about 60 million.
Barack Obama (and John McCain continue to support the extreme Islamists in the Muslim Brotherhood).

Barack Obama has succeeded in recruiting an additional 200 million supporters of Islamic Extremism in the world.
In Pakistan, in Yemen, in Egypt etc.

The drone warfare is specifically designed to recruit more Jihadists.
It has killed off around 200 old tired Jihadist leaders and recruited perhaps 10,000 more Jihadists.
It has been extremely effective in what it set out to do.

The chief architect of Obama's drone warfare program - John Brennan has been appointed CIA Director with his own fleet of drones.
The CIA's drone fleet was greatly expanded just prior to his appointment.

The Neocon wars are to be expanded into Africa, starting with Mali.
Obama is sending US troops to 35 more countries in Africa.
A drone base is being/has been set up in Niger from which the whole of West Africa can be covered.
Libya provides a base of safe sanctuary and a means to supply Islamic Extremists in Mali (while Obama pretends to fight them - in reality he will arm both sides in the conflict).
The legitimate government of Mali was overthrown in 2012 with a military coup supported by the French and the Americans.

Barack Obama's Foreign Policy
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/the-recent-achievements-of-us-foreign.html

A picture from Tahrir Square - Cairo

The people of Egypt now understand Barack Obama's agenda, but Americans are still too blind to see.
Blinded by the wholesale propaganda and their own total ignorance and apathy by the corporate and Neocon controlled mass media in America.

John McCain and Barack Obama continue to work as a team to expand the Neocon agenda.
MCain pushes a bit more every so often and Barack Obama pretends to get dragged along.
There are private meetings in the White House between Barack Obama, John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

As a final irony - you really cannot beat this.
The Neocons are becoming more and more confident and open.

Civil rights continue to be massively eroded - with :-
NDAA indefinite detention
the extension of the Patriot Act
the effective repeal of Posse Comitatus

Mass Surveillance
New authorities granted by a relatively small change in regulations to allow the President and the Pentagon to impose martial law at their whim and over riding any objections from the civil authorities - the Governor and/or the Mayor.

Domestic surveillance has been exponentially increased under Obama with the NSA spying programs collecting massive amounts of data on every American - effectively building a dossier showing more or less their every movement and communication.

The NSA's Mass Domestic Surveillance programs :-
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/the-nsa-mass-surveillance-scandal-story.html

A large scale surveillance state is required in any authoritarian regime, in order to suppress political dissent.

Political Control

ALL of the GOP and Dem leadership are out and out Neocons.

Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Dianne Feinstein etc. are all out and out Neocons.
John Kerry urged for the immediate bombing of Syria, the Pentagon has so far pushed back.

The GOP is completely controlled from top to bottom by Neocons (even if some of the state party officials do not realise themselves, what they are supporting).
Mitt Romney's main Foreign Policy "advisors" were Dov Zakheim and Dan Senor - both are rabid war mongering Neocons and ex-Bushies.
John McCain - the leading Neocon in Congress was Romney's leading supporter.

The Economic Situation

Both the GOP and Dem leaders' economic policies are specifically directed at creating severe recession in America by :-

wiping out the middle class with increased taxation and lower job prospects
strangling small and medium business entrepreneurship
increasing unemployment
destroying disposable incomes and median wages

http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/unemployment.html

Both parties agree that $2.5tn a year should be transferred from ordinary Americans to rich elites via Corporate Welfare.
Most of this $2.5tn a year is coming out of the wealth of the middle class, which is being wiped out in America.
The milk from the middle class cow is already running dry.

Barack Obama's Corporatist agenda :-
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/why-do-people-still-think-that-barack.html

The gang of 8 immigration bill and Obamacare are both specifically designed to exacerbate current trends.
They will work in tandem to massively increase economic hardship and lower job prospects for all Americans.
It is by no means certain the Gang of 8 plans will go through - it is so obviously against  America's interests that even some Neocon members of Congress have spotted it.

N.B. If either party was not in favor of creating extreme economic deprivation one or both would be proposing something like this, neither are :-
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/how-to-fix-americas-economy-create-jobs.html

The Final Agenda

The final agenda is to impose complete authoritarian Corporate controlled (Fascist) rule in America.
The infrastructure for this to occur is almost completely in place.
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/all-infrastructure-tyrant-would-need.html

The final step requires civil unrest due to extreme economic hardship and high levels of unemployment.
N.B. U6 unemployment is already at 14%, real unemployment is much higher at 23%.

The civil unrest will lead to the imposition of Martial Law in at least some large American cities and the adoption of "Emergency Measures" to combat the unrest that the Neocons themselves have deliberately created.
Boston provided a useful dry run for this to see how far the Neocons could go without the American people getting suspicious.
Americans applauded the authoritarian measures imposed to catch just two ill equipped and ill supported fugitives!
The Neocons now know that they can get away with almost anything - almost all Americans are too blind to see.

A de facto Fascist dictatorship is to be installed in America, with the full support of the American people - just like Germany in 1932/33.

The death of the American Empire - the 20 most devastating stats from 2012 & how to fix things

Posted on 00:05 by Unknown

20) As baby boomers retire and health costs rise, this spending will mount. In 2010, there were 40 million Americans 65 and older. By 2020, that number is projected to be 55 million; by 2030, 72 million. —  Robert Samuelson

19) A college degree used to mean that a person would add on average $1 million to their income over their lifetime. Today a college degree only guarantees an average $300,000 in added income over a lifetime. — Ron Meyer

18) J.P. Morgan estimates that American companies currently hold a cool $1.7 trillion in profits outside the U.S. They keep them there because if they brought them home, they’d be taxed at 35%. — The Wall Street Journal

17) Federal spending under Obama has been 24 percent to 25 percent of gross domestic product. Even in World War II, revenues never reached that level. Since that war, the highest level was 20.6 percent of GDP in 2000, when the government was flush with tax revenues from the capital gains of dot-com founders. — Michael Barone

16) Surging above $1 trillion, U.S. student loan debt has surpassed credit card and auto-loan debt. This debt explosion jeopardizes the fragile recovery, increases the burden on taxpayers and possibly sets the stage for a new economic crisis. — APNews

15) In 1960, the percentage of the economically active 18-to-64 population receiving disability benefits was 0.65%. In 2010, it was 5.6%. — Michael Barone

14) State and local property tax collections (blue line in the graph below) have risen by 10%, from $400 billion to $440 billion, since 2008, even though the price of homes in most American markets (red line) has fallen by 30% since 2008. Your house is worth less and your property taxes have gone up. Most of the $440 billion in property taxes is paid by homeowners. That compares with the $380 billion a year or so that homeowners pay on the $10 trillion in outstanding home mortgage debt. Homeowners now pay roughly as much in property taxes as in mortgages interest. It used to be a quarter to a third as much. No wonder home prices remain depressed. — Spengler

13) Between 1992 and 2008, the number of bachelor’s degrees awarded rose almost 50 percent, from around 1.1 million to more than 1.6 million. According to Vedder, 60 percent of those additional students ended up in jobs that have not historically required a degree—waitress, electrician, secretary, mail carrier. — Megan McCardle

12) The growth of entitlement payments over the past half-century has been breathtaking. In 1960, U.S. government transfers to individuals totaled about $24 billion in current dollars, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. By 2010 that total was almost 100 times as large. Even after adjusting for inflation and population growth, entitlement transfers to individuals have grown 727% over the past half-century, rising at an average rate of about 4% a year. In 2010 alone, government at all levels oversaw a transfer of over $2.2 trillion in money, goods and services. The burden of these entitlements came to slightly more than $7,200 for every person in America. Scaled against a notional family of four, the average entitlements burden for that year alone approached $29,000. — Heather Ginsberg

11) But these comparisons tend to understate the insolvency of America, failing as they do to take into account state and municipal debts and public pension liabilities. When Morgan Stanley ran those numbers in 2009, the debt-to-revenue ratio in Greece was 312 percent; in the United States it was 358 percent. If Greece has been knocking back the ouzo, we’re face down in the vat. Michael Tanner of the Cato Institute calculates that, if you take into account unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare versus their European equivalents, Greece owes 875 percent of GDP; the United States owes 911 percent — or getting on for twice as much as the second-most-insolvent Continental: France at 549 percent. — Mark Steyn

10) Fewer Americans are at work today than in April 2000, even though the population since then has grown by 31 million. — Mortimer Zuckerman

9) According to Pew, the Americans in the middle half of the income distribution — defined as households from $39,418 to $118,225 — suffered an almost 40 percent wealth loss from 2007 to 2010. Adjusted for inflation, their wealth, consisting mostly of homes, stocks and bonds, was barely greater than in 1983. “Everyone was getting wealthier through the first half of the decade,” says Pew’s Paul Taylor. “Well, a lot of that was paper wealth and housing wealth” — which went poof. Richer households didn’t fare so badly, because they had a smaller share of their wealth in homes. — Robert Samuelson

8) Consider this: the U.S. economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009. In the same period, 3.1 million workers have signed up for disability benefits. Back in 1992 there was one person on disability benefits for every 36 people in employment. Now the ratio is 1 to 16. Unemployment is being concealed—and rendered permanent—in ways all too familiar to Europeans. — It is Westerners who are in the stationary state, while China is growing faster than any other major economy in the world. The World Bank expects the European economy to contract this year and the U.S. to grow by just 2 percent. China will grow as much as four times faster than that. The mood disorder is especially bad for investors. Only seven out of 47 national stock markets around the world have posted gains in the last 12 months. — Niall Ferguson

7) Greece, with an economy 1/50th the size of the U.S., is threatening the economic standing of the rest of Europe because of its growing debt burden, which hit 143 percent of its gross domestic product in 2010. The U.S. is on pace to match that dubious distinction in under 20 years, according to the CBO, and to soar to 716 percent by 2080. Sustaining such debt would require raising marginal tax rates to as high as 88 percent, according to the CBO. — Philip Klein

6) No nation is rich enough to give you all this “free” stuff year in, year out. Spain’s government debt works out to $18,000 per person, France’s to $33,000, Greece’s to $39,000. Thank God we’re not Greece, huh? Er, in fact, according to the Senate Budget Committee, U.S. government debt is currently $44,215 per person. Going by the official Obama budget numbers, it will rise over the next ten years to $75,000. As I say, that’s per person: 75 grand in debt for every man, woman, and child, not to mention every one of the ever-swelling ranks of retirees and disabled Social Security recipients — or about $200,000 per household. — Mark Steyn

5) Generally speaking, functioning societies make good-faith efforts to raise what they spend, subject to fluctuations in economic fortune: Government spending in Australia is 33.1 percent of GDP, and tax revenues are 27.1 percent. Likewise, government spending in Norway is 46.4 percent, and revenues are 41 percent – a shortfall but in the ballpark. Government spending in the United States is 42.2 percent, but revenues are 24 percent – the widest spending/taxing gulf in any major economy. — Mark Steyn

4) Washington would have to collect $8 trillion in tax revenue, not to pay off our national debt and have reserves against unfunded liabilities, but just to avoid accumulating more debt. Recent IRS data show that individuals earning $66,000 and more a year have a total adjusted gross income of $5.1 trillion. In 2011, corporate profit came to $1.6 trillion. — Walter Williams

3) After all, if you confiscated the total wealth of the Forbes 400 richest Americans it would come to $1.5 trillion. Which is just a wee bit less than the federal shortfall in just one year of Obama-sized budgets. 2011 deficit: $1.56 trillion. But maybe for 2012 a whole new Forbes 400 of Saudi princes and Russian oligarchs will emigrate to the Hamptons and Malibu and keep the whole class-warfare thing going for a couple more years. — Mark Steyn

2) The IMF calculates that to maintain present spending trend the United States will have to nearly double (88 percent increase) all federal taxes to maintain theoretical solvency. — Kevin Williamson

1) Corporate Welfare is now over $2.5tn a year

The vast majority of it is being paid for by the middle classes - the middle class is being wiped out in America.
Poverty is at record levels, as is the number of people on Food stamps.
Disposable incomes continue their devastating decline.
Corporate profits are also at record levels - Corporate profits are not the problem we face, it is EVERYTHING else.

America spent $1,219bn on the military in 2012.
50% more than GW Bush ever spent and TRIPLE what America spent during the cold war - inflation adjusted.
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/military-spending-1962-to-date.html

America is now taking over $1.3tn a year from the middle classes and giving it to rich elites via large Corporations.
It is unsustainable - the milk from the middle class cow is already running dry.
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/it-is-very-easy-to-cut-1tn-from-federal.html

America is now giving over $780bn a year to the big banks in Federal government subsidies plus over $500bn a year in bailouts from the Federal Reserve private banks from QE printing.
This too is unsustainable.

What happens when the rule of law increasingly bows to the whims and violations of unaccountable public officials?

Posted on 17:29 by Unknown
In the United States, we are seeing the rule of law eroded by those at the top levels of our government. We are witnessing the dismantling of the guiding principles of justice and the rule of law. Our legal system has been gamed to preferentially serve the needs of the few rather than those of the many.
The rule of law should be a persistent guard against -- rather than an instrument of -- unfair advantage or injustice for those with power, money and influence.
Our elected officials have failed in their duty to uphold the rule of law. This malfeasance has led to secret law, secret courts, secret evidence, secret budgets and secret prisons under the guise of "national security." There is surveillance of attorney-client communications, unauditable secret expenditures for foreign military exploits, dragnet snooping of electronic and telephone data and even redacted published judicial decisions.
Habeas corpus has been tarnished by the inhumane and unjust treatment of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay including many already cleared by the government but still jailed. Infinite detention has tarnished our legal system. Some dictocrats even argue that American citizens should be subjected to indefinite imprisonment.
Drone attacks in foreign nations are justified by secret legal memos. The president, without any Congressional authorization, can target any "suspected terrorist," including American citizens.
Who has the power to stop this descent into a nation of reckless leadership and lawlessness?
The million lawyers of America do. Lawyers know how to apply law to power. They know how to use the courts and how to lobby. They can cut through the jungle of legalese. They know when the laws are being violated and the remedies for the victims. They know how to draft legislation. They have contacts and resources. It's only a matter of more of them utilizing these powerful tools.

Paul Craig Roberts: Patriotism is Allegiance To The Constitution, Not Government

Posted on 13:26 by Unknown
American patriots, who feel that they should be on “their” government’s side regardless of the facts, would do well to remember what true patriotism is. For Americans, patriotism has always meant allegiance to the Constitution, not to the government. The oath is to defend the Constitution against enemies domestic and foreign. The Bush and Obama regimes have proven themselves to be the Constitution’s worst enemies. It is not possible for a true patriot to support a government that destroys the Constitution. The United States is the Constitution. Our country is not the Obama regime, the Bush regime, or some other administration. Our country is the Constitution. The Constitution is our country.

MacBeth for the modern era

Posted on 05:06 by Unknown

The cast

The 3 witches - Cheney, Bush & McCain
MacBeth - Barack Obama
Lady MacBeth - Hillary Clinton
Duncan - The Bill of Rights
Banquo - Ron Paul
MacDuff - Rand Paul
Birnam Wood - the great mass of the American people

The play

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble

Make them so scared
Til the people no longer cared
Burn down their crops til there's nothing but stubble

Give them stories of planes and demons
Make them scared of the heathens
Take away every one of  their rights
Make sure they all get the frights
And willingly give up their freedoms

Let great debt enslave them
Let Corporations rule over them
Maintain their illusions
Spy with centers of fusion
Steal every penny of wealth from them

The people will have to stop their belief in false prophets
Make the government stop the raid on their pockets
Switch off the tv
Wake up and see
Rip the corrupt ruler's eyes right out of their sockets

Let protesters on the street roar
We've had it - we won't take any more
Restore our rights and the Land of the Free
We will regrow our Liberty Tree
Traitors in power - we will show them the door

Let the people storm the Ivory Castle
Make them see the lies out of Basle
Recall the 500 traitors on Capital Hill
Get the people to stop taking the blue pill
No longer will we be, your Corporate vassal

So what does it take for people to stop voting Dems & GOP?

Posted on 21:05 by Unknown

What does it take for people to stop voting for mega corruption?

What does it take for people to stop voting for the hired hands of the top 0.1%?

The GOP & the Dems are both the same.

They work for the bankers - not for you.

Personally I would like to see the 50 states secede from the den of iniquity & corruption that is Washington DC.
DC is too far gone to ever be able to be fixed.

I would like to restore the Bill of Rights.

And I would like to hold a Convention to determine how this country should be governed.

No GOP or Dems or bankers would be allowed in.
Like Iceland did it.

And severe limits on campaign finance and spending.
Nobody can spend more than $100,000 on a Senate seat.
Nobody can spend more than $10m running for President.

Oh and the new Capital would not be located in a swamp.
Sort of tempting fate that one - don't you think?

And the land of the freeeeeeeee" U.S. Army bans the Guardian NSA articles armywide

Posted on 07:08 by Unknown

http://www.
The Army admitted Thursday to not only restricting access to The Guardian news website at the Presidio of Monterey, as reported in Thursday's Herald, but Armywide.

Presidio employees said the site had been blocked since The Guardian broke several stories on data collection by the National Security Agency.

Gordon Van Vleet, an Arizona-based spokesman for the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, or NETCOM, said in an email the Army is filtering "some access to press coverage and online content about the NSA leaks."

He wrote it is routine for the Department of Defense to take preventative "network hygiene" measures to mitigate unauthorized disclosures of classified information.

"We make every effort to balance the need to preserve information access with operational security," he wrote, "however there are strict policies and directives in place regarding protecting and handling classified information."

Network Hygiene. Indeed.

How the NSA is still harvesting your online data - 1 stream alone processed one trillion records Glenn Greenwald

Posted on 07:02 by Unknown
A review of top-secret NSA documents suggests that the surveillance agency still collects and sifts through large quantities of Americans' online data – despite the Obama administration's insistence that the program that began under Bush ended in 2011.

...

On December 26 2012, SSO announced what it described as a new capability to allow it to collect far more internet traffic and data than ever before. With this new system, the NSA is able to direct more than half of the internet traffic it intercepts from its collection points into its own repositories. One end of the communications collected are inside the United States.

The NSA called it the "One-End Foreign (1EF) solution". It intended the program, codenamed EvilOlive, for "broadening the scope" of what it is able to collect. It relied, legally, on "FAA Authority", a reference to the 2008 Fisa Amendments Act that relaxed surveillance restrictions.

This new system, SSO stated in December, enables vastly increased collection by the NSA of internet traffic. "The 1EF solution is allowing more than 75% of the traffic to pass through the filter," the SSO December document reads. "This milestone not only opened the aperture of the access but allowed the possibility for more traffic to be identified, selected and forwarded to NSA repositories." It continued: "After the EvilOlive deployment, traffic has literally doubled."

...

On December 31, 2012, an SSO official wrote that ShellTrumpet had just "processed its One Trillionth metadata record".

...

An SSO entry dated September 21, 2012, announced that "Transient Thurible, a new Government Communications Head Quarters (GCHQ) managed XKeyScore (XKS) Deep Dive was declared operational." The entry states that GCHQ "modified" an existing program so the NSA could "benefit" from what GCHQ harvested.

The Unelected Banker Sitting in UK's Parliament to Make Life Easier for Banks

Posted on 23:21 by Unknown
The Remembrancer is the only non-MP or civil servant with a seat in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.  He sits to the right of the Speaker in every session of parliament.  His sole purpose is to scrutinise and influence legislation in the interests of the banks. Nobody elected this representative into our parliament. What kind of democracy allows an unelected lobbyist for a wealthy elite to sit in its parliament to write laws in their own interests?
Who is the Remembrancer?
The current Remembrancer is Paul Double, a former barrister, and he has been in the role since 2003.  In that time, he has not provided a single interview to the media.  He has a budget of £5.3m, and a £500,000 staff which included six lawyers.
The City of London Website describes his activities and duties as thus:
“The City Remembrancer’s Office is one of the City’s traditional offices and dates from the reign of Elizabeth I. The Office holder is one of the City’s Law Officers as well as being a Parliamentary Agent and its Head of Protocol. The Remembrancer is charged with maintaining and enhancing the City’s status and ensuring that its established rights are safeguarded. As long ago as 1685 an order was made for the Remembrancer “to continue to attend Parliament and the offices of the Secretaries of State daily, and acquaint the Lord Mayor with the public affairs and other business transacted there, relating to the City”. In the contemporary context, this work encompasses day to day contact with officials in Government departments responsible for developing government policy, the drafting and promotion of legislation and responsibility for relations with both Houses of Parliament and their Committees including briefings for debates in which the City Corporation or its associated bodies have an interest. The Office also tracks the work of the GLA Assembly, and the GLA’s associated bodies.”
In short, while having no vote, the Remembrancer is granted direct access to decision makers and legislators in order to lobby for the interests of the City.  Nicholas Shaxson, author of the definitive investigation of the City of London ‘Treasure Islands’, refers to his role as the “world’s oldest institutional lobbyist”.

The Awakening of a Conscience - William Blum on Edward Snowden and US Mass Surveillance

Posted on 11:23 by Unknown
The Anti-Empire Report #118

By William Blum – Published June 26th, 2013

Edward Snowden

In the course of his professional life in the world of national security Edward Snowden must have gone through numerous probing interviews, lie detector examinations, and exceedingly detailed background checks, as well as filling out endless forms carefully designed to catch any kind of falsehood or inconsistency. The Washington Post (June 10) reported that “several officials said the CIA will now undoubtedly begin reviewing the process by which Snowden may have been hired, seeking to determine whether there were any missed signs that he might one day betray national secrets.”

Yes, there was a sign they missed – Edward Snowden had something inside him shaped like a conscience, just waiting for a cause.

It was the same with me. I went to work at the State Department, planning to become a Foreign Service Officer, with the best – the most patriotic – of intentions, going to do my best to slay the beast of the International Communist Conspiracy. But then the horror, on a daily basis, of what the United States was doing to the people of Vietnam was brought home to me in every form of media; it was making me sick at heart. My conscience had found its cause, and nothing that I could have been asked in a pre-employment interview would have alerted my interrogators of the possible danger I posed because I didn’t know of the danger myself. No questioning of my friends and relatives could have turned up the slightest hint of the radical anti-war activist I was to become. My friends and relatives were to be as surprised as I was to be. There was simply no way for the State Department security office to know that I should not be hired and given a Secret Clearance. (1)

So what is a poor National Security State to do? Well, they might consider behaving themselves. Stop doing all the terrible things that grieve people like me and Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning and so many others. Stop the bombings, the invasions, the endless wars, the torture, the sanctions, the overthrows, the support of dictatorships, the unmitigated support of Israel; stop all the things that make the United States so hated, that create all the anti-American terrorists, that compel the National Security State – in pure self defense – to spy on the entire world.

...

The United States has been trying to persuade European Union countries as well to allow it “back-door” access to encryption programs, claiming that this was to serve the needs of law-enforcement agencies. However, a report released by the European Parliament in May 1999 asserted that Washington’s plans for controlling encryption software in Europe had nothing to do with law enforcement and everything to do with US industrial espionage. The NSA has also dispatched FBI agents on break-in missions to snatch code books from foreign facilities in the United States, and CIA officers to recruit foreign communications clerks abroad and buy their code secrets, according to veteran intelligence officials.

The recent achievements of US Foreign Policy under Obama

Posted on 22:54 by Unknown

Pakistan has gone from 25% of the population in 2005 who consider America to their enemy to 92%.
The reason most often cited in polls is the drone warfare program.

Egypt went from a secular state to one ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Update 10/02 (Neither Obama or McCain were overjoyed when the Muslim Brotherhood were overthrown in July 2013 by a popular uprising of 20 to 30 million Egyptians protesting on the streets.
People Power can still win - but it takes tens of millions of Moderates actually doing something tangible and visible and becoming Activists in the real world, not cyberland.)

Libya has gone from a secular state to one now ruled by Islamic Extremists.

The civil war in Yemen has been greatly exacerbated.
Yemen is fertile recruiting ground for Jihadists. It has a large population of unemployed young males.

As the recent Yemeni witness to Congress stated - the Jihadists had been trying to turn his village into their supporters for many years and failed.
One drone strike did the Jihadists job for them.

The Syrian "rebels" are almost exclusively comprised of Islamic Extremists.

Many other Muslim countries have seen a rise in support of Islamic Extremists and a fall in support for America.

The drone warfare program is a primary recruiting tool for the Jihadists.

At least 176 children have been killed in Pakistan alone.
While the pictures of the horrific injuries are hidden in the West, they are widely used as recruitment posters by the Jihadists.

The wars are being expanded into West Africa - starting with Mali.
Algeria and Nigeria are obvious next targets to increase support for Islamic Extremism.
Libya now serves as a secure base for the Islamists.
Obama is moving US troops into 35 more African countries in 2013.
He has already agreed to set up a drone a base in Niger with their government.

The legitimate government of Mali was overthrown in a US/French sponsored military coup in 2012.

The civil war in Syria is being exacerbated.
The US is supporting the FSA against Assad.
As reported in the NY Times and several other places, the FSA is almost completely comprised of Islamic Extremists.
It also contains a significant proportion of foreign Islamist fighters - including a fair few from Libya who fought against the Americans in Iraq.

The US has been arming the Islamists for quite some time - both directly from Gaddafi's Libyan arms stores and via their proxies - Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

John Kerry is eager to start bombing Syria - he wants to get started immediately. The Pentagon pushed back.
Kerry sounds more war mongering than even John McCain.

The US has moved more troops into Jordan to stir up the unrest in Syria.
Both Jordan and Lebanon are being unsettled by the events in Syria.
Syria is of strategic importance - it lies on the route of gas and oil pipelines.
Particularly the proposed gas pipeline from Arabia to Europe via Turkey.

Around 200 million more supporters of Islamic Extremism have been recruited as a direct result of the drone warfare program (nearly 100 million in Pakistan alone).

Tens of thousands of new Jihadists have been recruited from the ranks of those 200 million.

The primary purpose of Obama's drone warfare program is to recruit lots more Islamic Extremists and Jihadists and that is exactly what it has done.

The people in the American government are not stupid - if they didn't want to create more conflict and hatred around the world; and lots more Jihadists and Islamic terrorists they would do something different.

But where would the Military Industrial Complex be without enemies to fight?

Somebody is now trying to get the draft (rebranded) into the public consciousness

Posted on 22:24 by Unknown
Instituting a form of the draft would be a very good way of controlling otherwise troublesome unemployed young males. They are expecting a LOT of them in the near future.

It would also be a good way of finishing the indoctrination and brainwashing for those who dropped out of school early.

NSA admits that thousands of analysts can listen to US domestic phone calls without a court order

Posted on 04:39 by Unknown
National Security Agency discloses in secret Capitol Hill briefing that thousands of analysts can listen to domestic phone calls. That authorization appears to extend to e-mail and text messages too.

Earlier reports have indicated that the NSA has the ability to record nearly all domestic and international phone calls -- in case an analyst needed to access the recordings in the future. A Wired magazine article last year disclosed that the NSA has established "listening posts" that allow the agency to collect and sift through billions of phone calls through a massive new data center in Utah, "whether they originate within the country or overseas." That includes not just metadata, but also the contents of the communications.
William Binney, a former NSA technical director who helped to modernize the agency's worldwide eavesdropping network, told the Daily Caller this week that the NSA records the phone calls of 500,000 to 1 million people who are on its so-called target list, and perhaps even more. "They look through these phone numbers and they target those and that's what they record," Binney said.
Brewster Kahle, a computer engineer who founded the Internet Archive, has vast experience storing large amounts of data. He created a spreadsheet this week estimating that the cost to store all domestic phone calls a year in cloud storage for data-mining purposes would be about $27 million per year, not counting the cost of extra security for a top-secret program and security clearances for the people involved.

Get out there and WAKE SOME MORE PEOPLE UP #NSA Mass Surveillance

Posted on 01:07 by Unknown

Use the NSA spy scandal to explain to people how America is being wrecked by BOTH parties.
There is only one party in America - the business party which works for large corporations not the people.
Get out there and WAKE SOME MORE PEOPLE UP.
We need millions more to become aware of what the government is really about.
If all of us that are aware, went out and persuaded 5 more - we would soon have the numbers to REALLY make a CHANGE for the BETTER in this country.

How to raise awareness - talk the following through with others :-

Explain Edward Snowden and the NSA spying scandal.
Get more people to sign the multiple petitions.
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/its-up-to-each-and-every-one-of-you-now.html

Explain to people that the NSA's Mass Surveillance programs are not about combating terrorism, for which the are extremely ineffective - see Boston.
They are about obtaining material for blackmail, intimidation and suppression of political "dissidents", for which they are VERY effective - see Stasi.

The uncomfortable truth for Barack Obama - he is a CORPORATIST not a Democrat.
Over 95% of Congress are Corporatists - they are NOT Republicans NOR Democrats - they are members of the BIG BUSINESS PARTY and do NOT work for the people.

How to turn America around from it's current death spiral.
How to create jobs and prosperity - instead of increasing poverty.

The list of items that make up the over $1.3tn a year of Corporate Welfare
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/it-is-very-easy-to-cut-1tn-from-federal.html

It's a similar story in just about every other Western country.

In the UK none of the main parties have got any interest in jailing the senior bankers or fining the big banks more than token amounts for their multiple frauds and money laundering.
The UK should fine the big banks £100bn+
The UK is spending a massive amount on the military (read big arms companies) - over £50bn a year, it should be cut by 80% and the UK should stop being America's poodle in their Neocon wars.
How to fix the UK's economy :-
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/uk-perilously-close-to-triple-dip.html

The so called "austerity" measures in Europe haven't done anything to reduce government deficits.
Government cuts are mostly directed in the wrong areas and are outweighed by the increase in social welfare payments caused by extremely high levels of unemployment.
The other countries in Europe are all still protecting the big banks at the expense of the ordinary people.

How to fix Greece :-
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/if-i-were-greece.html

The UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are all part of the Five Eyes spying and mass surveillance agreement, with America's NSA.
As such they are spying on ALL of their citizens by getting one of the other of the other countries to spy on their citizens and swapping data.
The UK's GCHQ is collecting a lot of the data and passing it on to the NSA, from where it is shared by Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The largest collection of data within Europe is from Germany - as per the heat map in the NSA's Boundless Informant program. There's a tiny hint in the title - the NSA is spying on EVERYBODY.

The overall agenda of both the US and the UK is the takeover of the entire globe for the interests of the large banks, multinationals and big business - at the expense of the 99% of ordinary people.
