The invisible chains are always the hardest to see and therefore the most effective

You work, you pay taxes.
The government collects the taxes.
The government gives away $2.5tn of your taxes every year to selected wealthy elites in the form of Corporate Welfare.
Such is the truth.
There are other chains too.
The Mass Surveillance on every American to suppress political dissent against the current system.
Indefinite detention, persecution and torture for the really troublesome people.
The police are increasingly militarized and abusive.
The military are now able to perform riot control for any protests or demonstrations.
The Corporate media is totally locked down - none of the truth will come out of there. They lie to the American people every day to keep them ignorant and subservient.
The public education system dumbs down the people so they are no longer able to think for themselves.
Any troublesome journalists that dare to tell the truth are hunted down or jailed or persecuted or smeared.
Over 1 million harmless poor people are now in jail to feed the private prison business.
No rich people get sent to jail, whatever crimes they choose to commit.
Some crumbs are dished out from the table.
Some social welfare (they are seeking to reduce it by various methods, such as chained cpi).
Some bribes and payoffs to the next level(s) down.
Some salaries to the people who "manage" the process. They may be on a few $millions a year - but this is peanuts to the oligarch elite and peanuts to the size of the pot.
Politicians, Corporate media talking heads, senior government officials etc. all take their cut.
Tim Geithner is getting some of his payoff right now. He has been paid $400,000 by the big banks for a few recent speeches.
It is difficult to free fools from the (bankster) chains they revere. Voltaire
